DESCRIPTION:Family Preservation Project Training \nCollaborating with CAFL Attorneys \n  \nThursday\, April 2\, 2026\, from 1 to 2 p.m. \nBy Zoom \n1 CLE Credit \nCommunity Legal Aid \nThe first of its kind in Massachusetts\, Community Legal Aid’s Family Preservation Project (FPP) provides legal and non-legal support to families who are involved with the Department of Children and Families. The goal is to prevent a child’s unnecessary removal from their home and the accompanying trauma that can result. The interdisciplinary Worcester FPP team will present on the work of the FPP\, referrals to the project\, and the ways in which the FPP can support the work of CAFL attorneys should a removal occur\, as well as following family reunification. \nFPP will explain the services it provides and the various ways they can assist CAFL attorneys to provide better services to our clients: e.g. providing the client record that FPP has accumulated when DCF files for custody; assisting parents after dismissal to close the clinical case. \nThis training is only by Zoom.
