DESCRIPTION:Title: WHAT ARE THE ACTUAL IMMIGRATION RISKS FOR MY CLIENT? WHAT EVERY MASSACHUSETTS ATTORNEY NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION’S IMMIGRATION POLICIES \nDate: December 1st\, 4:00-6:00pm\, 2hrs \nPlatform: Remote \nProgram Description: \nAt a time when immigration enforcement is on everyone’s minds\, two experienced immigration lawyers go beyond the headlines and break down everything that Massachusetts attorneys who do not practice in this tumultuous and constantly-changing field of immigration law need to know right now. What are the actual differences under President Trump so far\, and what can we expect? How can you help to identify the actual risks that your client might be facing? How does ICE enforcement actually work\, and what factors are most likely to make someone a target? How is ICE managing detentions in New England\, and what are the chances of someone actually being released once they have been detained? We will answer these and many other questions to try to provide non¬immigration lawyers with what they need to know to understand this constantly-changing environment. \nApproved for 2 CAFL CLE

SUMMARY:Medical & Mental Health Treatment Decisions for Children Involved in State Intervention Cases (“Rogers”) Training
DESCRIPTION:Each year we host a two-part webinar on medical and mental health treatment decisions for children involved in state intervention cases (aka “Rogers” training). New CAFL attorneys are required to attend both days within their first two years of practice. This program is also open to any CAFL practitioner who would like a refresher. Those participating as a refresher may attend just one or both days. \nPart 1: November 12\, 2025\, 1:30-4:30pm (3 CAFL CLEs). In the first session\, clinicians will review mental health and substance use disorder treatment\, as well as gender affirming medical care\, for children. \nPart 2: November 19\, 2025\, 1:30-4:30pm (3 CAFL CLEs). In the second session\, we will review the legal framework for consent to medical and mental health treatment and discuss practical strategies to advocate effectively for parents and children regarding that treatment. \nMeeting Registration – Zoom
