We continue to seek volunteers while we continue expanded staff hiring.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking staff attorneys who want to support new attorneys by offering them the benefit of their experience and expertise in the form of advice, support, and resources outside of the confines of a supervisory relationship. If you’ve considered volunteering but still are not sure, we would be happy to answer any questions you have: Kristen Gondim [email protected]
How does it work?
Mentors and mentees will be paired based on their answers to the questionnaire here. Matches will be guided primarily by the mentees’ preferences and goals for the relationship. While many mentees are looking for mentors who share their practice area and geographic location, others may prioritize different areas of growth—such as wellness, work/life balance, professional development, or shared affinity and interests.
What’s required to participate?
Mentor training consists of a brief two-hour training over Zoom and will be offered in February, March, and May or June. This training is mandatory for mentors who have not yet attended the mentor training offered this fall or last year, but we encourage all mentors to attend.
Employees who have at least two years employment at CPCS are eligible to be mentors except for those on performance improvement plans or subject to active disciplinary action. Experienced staff attorneys with at least three years of experience, in non-management roles are preferred for this peer-based model.
