Equity, Inclusion & Diversity Department
The Equity, Inclusion & Diversity Department is led by the Equity and Inclusion Director (EID), who is responsible for developing and implementing an agenda that respects our CPCS agency values and our commitment to building agency racial awareness and equity within our offices. The EID advises our Senior Leadership team across all divisions and departments, and welcomes agency staff, supervisors, managers and directors to reach out on questions and issues concerning equity, inclusion and diversity. The EID works closely with our Human Resources department on a wide range of matters, including equal employment opportunities, hiring practices, and issues of bias and microaggressions that adversely impact our work and relationships.
The EID works closely with our Statewide Racial Equity Lead and the Training Department to support the development and instruction on racial and cultural awareness that CPCS has established as a priority for our agency. To support this work and related working group goals, the EID has created a Working Group that includes nearly 30 committed and talented colleagues from across our agency to recommend and model change on critical barriers to access, opportunity and fairness. The EID also connects with external stakeholders on initiatives that support our work, including the private bar, courts, administrative agencies and the public.
To build an anti-racism and culturally aware CPCS, we must rely on collaboration, a shared vision and understanding to drive our ambitious agenda for equity, inclusion and diversity. We are fortunate to have a mission and work objectives that brings visionary employees and allies to our agency, which creates an exceptional pool of people who willingly collaborate, conspire and innovate for change.
As our Equity, Inclusion and Diversity webpage develops, it will be a dynamic resource providing information on our work, past and present, and resources and resources to support each of us on our journey to build a CPCS that is more equitable, aware and respectful. Our vision is to get started here and to shape a public-facing page in the future. Please enjoy and feel welcome to send any ideas or suggestions to help improve our content to [email protected].
