Family Preservation Project Training

Family Preservation Project Training

Collaborating with CAFL Attorneys

Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m.

By Zoom

1 CLE Credit

Community Legal Aid

The first of its kind in Massachusetts, Community Legal Aid’s Family Preservation Project (FPP) provides legal and non-legal support to families who are involved with the Department of Children and Families. The goal is to prevent a child’s unnecessary removal from their home and the accompanying trauma that can result. The interdisciplinary Worcester FPP team will present on the work of the FPP, referrals to the project, and the ways in which the FPP can support the work of CAFL attorneys should a removal occur, as well as following family reunification.

FPP will explain the services it provides and the various ways they can assist CAFL attorneys to provide better services to our clients: e.g. providing the client record that FPP has accumulated when DCF files for custody; assisting parents after dismissal to close the clinical case.

This training is only by Zoom. Please pre-register so I can get a head count at: [email protected].

Remember to fill out and submit the attorney affirmation form after the training for credits.  Here is the link: https://www.cognitoforms.com/committeeforpubliccounselservices/caflcleaffirmationform
