FAQs – SPAM filtering

Q: How do I manage may spam?

Q: When I try to delete, deliver or whitelist an email, I get the following message, ““This might be a phishing message…click here to enable functionality…” What should I do?

Q: How can I request an ad hoc SPAM report?

Q: On my phone or from webmail, I click on “whitelist” or “deliver” or any link in the SPAMTitan email and no web page comes up or I get a page not found error. What is happening? Why isn’t this working?

A: For instructions on managing your SPAM click here.

A: If you are confident of this email, simply click to not show this message again.

A:  Next time you get a SPAM report, please look at the bottom of your email and you should see “Send me a new report now containing: All quarantined items.” If you click on the “All quarantined items” link, it will immediately check and then email you a SPAM report for your review. You’ll want to save this email, so you can find the link in the future, and request ad hoc reports in the future.

We have two spam filters, so you will need to do this with both of the spam filters. Sorry for the pain of this duplication. You can know that you are requesting a new report from each of the SPAM filters by the address of the link. If you hover your cursor over the All quarantined items link, you will see an address which starts either http://10.10.15.174 or http://192.168.110.174 . So, save a SPAM report email with each of these two different addresses, so you can check them both.

A: You have to be on the CPCS network to perform any SPAM control actions. So, if you are on your work PC in the office on the network or logged into your PC with GoToMyPC remotely, you can perform SPAM maintenance actions. Otherwise you can’t, because the SPAM filters are on our network and can only be accessed from our network (your phone, table, webmail are not on the CPCS network).
