Q7: Can I see my team calendar/mailbox in addition to my personal one?

Q8: I setup my iPhone to use TouchID to open the MaaS360 app, but every so often it prompts me to input my passcode to reactivate TouchID?

A1: This usually is a result of not following the installation instructions.

People often simply download the app and think it will work. To get MaaS360 to work correctly, you must follow the installation instructions. If you have this problem, delete the MaaS360 application, then setup using the installation guide. After this, if you are still having problems, send an email to the helpdesk for assistance.

A2: If your device is unsupported, you have two options:

  1. Access mobile contacts/calendar/email through your mobile browser at https://webmail.publiccounsel.net
    OR
  2. Use GoToMyPC from your mobile device to access email and calendar on your PC

A3: You mistakenly selected “corporate” mode rather than “personal” mode. In corporate mode, we apply permission to your device, including forcing it to have a pass code and lock. To remove corporate mode and reset it to personal mode, you must take the following steps:

iPhone/iOS

  1. Delete MaaS360
  2. Go into settings–>general–>profile (third from the bottom) and delete MaaS360 management profile.

Android

  1. Delete MaaS360 app
  2. Go to settings–>Security–>device administrators and delete MaaS360

A4: Yes, you still need to setup MaaS360. You must use corporate mode.

A5: Go to the standard installation guide for your device and you will find instructions for iOS and Android at Step 3 and Step 5, respectively.

A6: When installing MaaS360, you will receive two options: corporate or personal.

  • Corporate mode lets you use any app you like to see your calendar and download and read your emails, BUT it means that CPCS will be setting security/permissions on your phone.
  • Personal mode means you can only access your work email/calendar through the MaaS360 apps, e.g., the Outlook app will not work nor will the native iPhone email app. You can’t access them through your standard phone apps. The benefit of this is CPCS does not control any permissions/security on your phone (which is a concern for some staff). CPCS only controls those permissions within the app themselves. Unless you are comfortable with CPCS controlling permissions/security on your device, use corporate mode ONLY if your device is CPCS-provided

A7: Yes, you can. When we first received MaaS360, it would only allow staff to see their personal CPCS calendar/email. However, at the end of 2017, the vendor fixed this, so you now can.

A8: After 24 hours of non-usage, users will have to enter the PIN to reactivate acceptance of TouchID. If used within a 24 hour period, they will not have to enter the PIN
