We are excited to announce a pilot project between CAFL and YAD. Our two Fall River offices are combining to form one office serving both CAFL and YAD clients in care and protection, termination of parental rights, CRA, delinquency, and youthful offender cases. This opportunity arose with Kathy Burns’ retirement in June after many successful years of running the Fall River CAFL office. Joe Mulhern, who is the current office head for the YAD Fall River office, will now take the reins of this joint office. The goal of this project is multilayered: we hope to break down silos between the divisions; better represent dually involved youth (those clients in both the child welfare and juvenile justice systems); and present opportunities to staff members who want to expand their practice areas.
