How to restart your PC – You can do this through GoToMyPC

Restarting is good for your computer. It clears the memory of crud that slow it down or cause it to crash. Restarting your PC weekly is a good practice.

How you do it depends on whether your PC is Windows 7 or Windows 10.
In either case, DO NOT CLICK “SHUT DOWN.” Shut down turns off your PC, which means it kills the power, and someone will need to go in and turn it back on. “Restarting” or “Rebooting” it simply causes it to close all the software down and the re-open it – the power is never turned off.

On Windows 10:
  1. Go to Start menu in the lower-left corner of the Windows desktop
  2. Click the Power button
  3. Click “Restart”
On Windows 7:

  1. Click Start in the lower-left corner of the Windows desktop
  2. Locate and click the right arrow (shown below) next to the Shut down button
  3. Select Restart from the menu that appears

Note: When you restart your computer, it will close your GoToMyPC session and any other open applications  (because you are restarting your PC). You will not be able to launch a GoToMyPC session until your PC has fully restarted (typically five minutes).
