SMART Plan

Participating in the Massachusetts Deferred Compensation SMART Plan may help provide a more comfortable and secure financial future. The Plan is established under the Internal Revenue Code Section 457, which allows eligible employees to save and invest before-tax or Roth 457 contributions through salary deferrals. If you have participated in or contributed to the SMART Plan or have an account established with EMPOWER from a previous employer, you must register using the SMART Plan Quick Enrollment form. Once completed, please email the completed form to Lien and Johanie in HR. 

If you are new to the SMART Plan (this means you have never contributed or do not have an account with Empower from a previous employer), you may register online at www.mass-smart.com using the enrollment code. Next, click the “Register” button on the landing page to take you to account verification. In the tab section “I have a plan enrollment code,” you will enter the enrollment code information in the attached PDF.

**Please select the accurate “DIVISION NAME,” or your contributions will not start. Once you get into your account, you can make your contribution election, add beneficiaries, choose investments, and play around with all the tools the SMART plan offers.
