On June 1, 2016, SJC Associate Justice Margot Botsford decided to send the Hinton Drug Lab matter to the full SJC panel to hear oral arguments to determine how to deal with drug cases tainted by former Hinton Drug Lab chemist Annie Dookhan. The decision came about after opposing sides could not narrow a very wide chasm of divergent opinions – District Attorneys hoping resolution would happen on a case by case basis.
